Charles W. Eastwood, Board Chairman

With more than 25 years of experience in the sales and service of employee benefit programs, Mr. Eastwood was appointed as American Benefit Corporation's Chief Executive Officer in 2007.

Over his considerable career, he has performed a variety of roles at such notable companies as Prudential and John Hancock Insurance. Mr. Eastwood served 13 years with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of West Virginia prior to becoming a National Account Executive with Cigna. While at Cigna, Mr. Eastwood and his sales team received the Superior Achievement Award for delivering the highest level of sales and service to their client base. After a 10 year stint with Cigna, Mr. Eastwood took the knowledge and expertise he had gained and opened Eastwood Consulting.

Mr. Eastwood holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Theory and Philosophy from West Virginia State University.

Kenneth L. Joos,  Past President and Consultant

American Benefit Corporation's President, Mr. Joos, has been with the organization for more than 40 years in a variety of leadership roles.

A native of North Dakota, Mr. Joos joined the company in 1979 after several years with a major insurance company. Mr. Joos became assistant Vice President in 1987, and has since served as Vice President, Senior Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. He was appointed President in 2005.

Mr. Joos holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in Accounting and English from the University of Northern Iowa.

C. Ryan Jones, Chief Executive and Financial Officer

Mr. Jones joined American Benefit Corporation in 2007. Mr. Jones is a CPA who has an extensive background in public practice including a regional firm that concentrated its practice in the health care field. Mr. Jones works closely with the IT and Sales departments to achieve the financial goals of the organization.

Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from West Virginia State University.

Rodney E. Napier, Chief Marketing Officer

Mr. Napier joined American Benefit Corporation in early 2010. Mr. Napier is responsible for the business development, strategic partnerships as well as corporate marketing and branding activities of American Benefit Corporation. This includes formulating and establishing marketing plans for the company as well as ensuring appropriate market position and name recognition for the company.

Prior to joining American Benefit Corporation, Mr. Napier served as Chief Marketing Officer, in addition to a variety of other senior management roles for CBCA Administrators, Inc. a national benefit management and third party administrator.

Mr. Napier holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Ashland University.

Jim Kirk, Chief Information Officer

Mr. Kirk joined American Benefit in 2008, after spending 20 years with Dow Chemical Company as their International Infrastructure Architect. Mr. Kirk is responsible for the design and implementation of information systems and operations.

Mr. Kirk earned his Associate's degree in Chemical Technology from West Virginia State University in 1990 and his Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems from Bellevue University in 1999. Mr. Kirk also holds a MCSE and numerous other certifications.

Kimberly A. Wood, Chief Administration Officer

Ms. Wood joined American Benefit Corporation in 1998 as Assistant Actuary, and was named Director of the Actuarial Department in 2005. She now also serves the company as an actuary and consultant. She has extensive experience in working with both health and pension funds, including administration, plan design, benefit studies, and federal compliance.

Ms. Wood's holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Mathematics from Marshall University. She earned the designation of Enrolled Actuary in 2009.

Matthew W. Carlton, Ph.D., F.S.A., Executive Vice President and
Senior Actuary

Dr. Carlton joined American Benefit Corporation in 1974. He became a Fellow in The Society of Actuaries in 1985 specializing in group pensions and group health. Dr. Carlton is an Enrolled Actuary and also a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, the College of Pension Actuaries and the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.

Dr. Carlton's educational background includes both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. He completed his Doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky.

Robyn T. Dilley, Senior Account Executive

Ms. Dilley joined American Benefit Corporation in 1979, and has held several positions within the company. She has served as Administrative Assistant since 1992 and was named Administrative Consultant Assistant in 2004 and Senior Account Executive in 2006.

Ms. Dilley earned her Associate degree in Business Management from the Huntington Junior College of Business and is currently sitting for the CEBS examinations.

Connie M. Frazier, Senior Account Executive

Ms. Frazier joined American Benefit Corporation in 2011 with more than 30 years experience in healthcare management.  Ms. Frazier is responsible for consulting and client relations. 

Prior to joining American Benefit Corporation, Ms. Frazier owned and served as CEO of Benefit Services, Inc. a national TPA, ultimately selling the TPA to Medical Mutual Services, LLC and serving as Division President/Consultant.  In addition to a variety of other roles, she served as a Client Manager for multiple Health & Welfare and VEBA Funds as well as commercial clients across the country.

Ms. Frazier has been a member of the IFEBP for 25+ years as well as the SPBA.  She has served on numerous committees with both organizations. In addition, Ms. Frazier has been admitted as an expert in healthcare management by the American Arbitration Association and was awarded Outstanding Female Executive by the Elite Who's Who in business administration and leadership.
